German-Swedish Joint Venture to Build 400-Megawatt Dantysk Windfarm
GALWAY, IRELAND--July 26, 2010--Written by Martin Lynch, European News Editor for Industrial Info (Galway, Ireland)--A joint venture to build a 400-megawatt (MW) windfarm near the border of Germany and Denmark has been formed by Swedish energy giant Vattenfall AB (Stockholm, Sweden) and Germany's Stadtwerke Munchen GmBH (SWM) (Munich). The Dantysk windfarm project will be constructed 70 kilometres west of the island of Sylt. The facility will use 80 turbines, each with a generating capacity of 5 MW, across a 70-square-kilometre area.
