Austrian Power Company Opens Final Tenders for Pumped-Storage Hydropower Station in the Alps

GALWAY, IRELAND--February 4, 2010--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The two Austrian hydropower plant groups Malta and Reisseck/Kreuzeck, each with capacities greater than 1,000 megawatts (MW) belong to the biggest and most powerful utility in the country, Verbund Austrian Hydro Power AG (Vienna, Austria), a subsidiary of Verbund AG (OTC:OEZVY) (Vienna). Verbund recently launched a final tender for the construction of the Reisseck II power plant, which is expected to produce 430 MW of power after beginning operations in October 2015.
